I am at the "Cycles of Discovery" asteroseismology conference at UBC in Vancouver. Around 100 of the leading experts in star quakes are here. New and exciting results from the COROT satellite were presented yesterday - apparently nearly all stars are pulsating. The results from the WIRE satellite that I presented on Tuesday also received quite some interest. Yesterday I went on a field trip in the mountains north of Vancouver. Together with Pedro, JC, Francois and Farid we saw two massive grizzly bears on the Grouse mountain (see picture). Fortunately, they were behind a wired fence. Later on we went to the conference dinner and ended up at Roxy's club downtown.
