I have started swimming a few times a week at the Aquatic Centre with Dennis Stello and Malene. The wise men say it's good for your back so I guess that's a good thing to do. We're using a mask and snorkel so we don't have to worry about breathing.
Last week I could do about 20m of front crawl and then I would be totally exhausted. After two weeks of instruction by Dennis and Malene I can now do 100 meters. In breast stroke I can do several hundred meters, wow! The picture below is actually not me but Michael Gross, who was one of the greatest butterfly swimmers in the early 1980s. His wing span was 227 cm and so he became known as the "albatros". Anyway, I will try to beat his freestyle record sometime next year
