In the picture we're drinking coffee at Baresso. The trip with Thai Airways to Sydney was fairly smooth. We left in the afternoon and after about 10 hours we arrived in the new airport in Bangkok very early in the morning. After another 9 hours and a total of 22 hours we finally landed in Sydney at around 9 pm. We then took a taxi to the house of Peter Barnes in Randwick. We were to be house sitters for two weeks while Peter and his family are in New York. After dropping our bags we took the bus down to the Circular Quay and saw the Jørn Utzon's famous Opera House.
It took us about five days to get over the jet lag. We were wide awake in the middle of the night (corresponding to morning in Europe). The trick seems to be to force yourself to stay awake during the day. You simply need to adjust your sleeping pattern on any long haul flight to the other side of the globe.
For the past two weeks we have been looking for a place to stay. We've looked mostly in the inner western suburbs (Alexandria, Glebe, Camperdown, Newtown) and have finally chosen a quite modern one bedroom apartment.
