PermaLink Spinning with Lasse Träff and Chris MacDonald09/24/2006 08:09 PM
I have been taking spinning classes for the past four years. My good friend Bo Jørgensen convinced me to go to a class back at asg.dk in Aarhus February 2003 when my weight was perhaps a bit too high at 97 kg. Today my weight is 80 kg which corresponds to a body mass index of 23 and this is what doctors seem to prefer. Today I took my final class with Lasse Träff at fitnessdk in Frederiksberg. He has been the best instructor while I lived in Copenhagen for one and a half years (2005-6). His classes typically consist of quite long intervals and he takes his time explaining exactly what will happen in the next 45 minutes. That means you can plan your stragedy carefully, ie. not use all your total viking power in the first 10 minutes. Another good instructor here in Copenhagen is Chris MacDonald. He is a true power machine and was second in the 5000 km Race Across America (RAAM) in 2005. I will miss the classes of both Chris and Lasse when I move to Sydney in just a week.

My max pulse this northern summer was 201. I was above 200 for 45 seconds and above 190 for four minutes! Not too bad!

I used my Polar watch S625X to measure my VO2Max. It was 44 in July and 43 in September 2006. That is typical for a normal fit male aged 33.

"ie. not use all your total viking power in the first 10 minutes"

2 things are suspect in the above sentence. 1). Can a viking not use all her vikingpower at once? 2). Is there any known cases of TvP lasting as long as 10 minutes?

I know not what you know I know, ya'know (pronounced with the "k"s audible, plx)

Happy travels down under my friend, i'll catch up to ya sometime.

Uffen
